Welcome to the Fossebrook Primary PTA
? are the school PTA (Parent Teachers Association). We raise money for the school to assist in the purchase of equipment and fund activities which helps all of our children with their education during their time at Redlands.
Any of our pupil’s relatives can be involved – parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles – so if you would like to do a little to help please email your contact details to us. There is no need for a regular commitment. Any help, no matter how small, is always appreciated.
You may be surprised to find out how you can help – do some shopping, design some tickets, wrap some prizes, bake some cakes, make some props, deliver some leaflets, source a raffle prize donation – there are lots of things that can help make our events more successful.
We meet for a couple of hours as and when we need to discuss plans for the next event. Dates are notified via book bags or text message and notice boards. Come and join us and share some ideas – everyone is welcome.
As a PTA, we are constantly striving to find ways to support our school without increasing the burden on our school families. In the current economic times we are looking for different ways of increasing our income, both financially and practically, indeed it is the responsibility of the PTA committee to look at all areas of fundraising open to us.
Our PTA is a registered charity and as such we are able to take advantage of employers charity matched funding schemes.
Matched Funding is a very simple practice. Companies or businesses pledge to donate to a charity such as ourselves, an amount of money relating to the amount that an employee(s) donates or fundraises for us. For example, a parent, who works for a company that offers matched giving, volunteers to work on the refreshment stall at the PTA summer fair. The profit made by the stall is £100. The parent’s employer will then match this amount with a further £100 (assuming they offer a £ for £ match). Alternatively a parent may opt to make a cash donation to our PTA which could be matched by their employer.
We would be grateful if you could approach your employer (human resources dept/personnel office) to see if a matched giving scheme is in operation in your workplace. Let us know if this is something your employer offers.
Our current committee is made up of the following people:
